Denim jeans are Normally something that everyone has one or two pairs of laying around, if you are anything like me you go through them on a regular basis, whether you grow out of them, stain them or rip them, they can usually be reused.

So Yesterday I was at the Continental market in Durham and saw something I hadn’t seen before. Someone had taken some old coins (but I presume not that valuable) and cut them into different shapes. The Stonehenge one was my favourite!
So after a wonderful time at MakerFaire 2014, where I not only showed off upcycled items but gave people a chance to make something themselves, I decided to do it all over again! As per my normal behaviour I filled out my application at the last minute, was pleased when I got a maker’s space and the promptly left most of the prep until the last minute. We all have a selection of small toys around the house, especially those that are occupied by small and not so small children. A quick and easy way to keep one of these or to re-use a favourite one is to make it into a keying.
Fabric flowers are a quick and easy way to use a scrap of fabric to make something beautiful for your hair, for a bag, a notepad or anywhere else that you like to put it. I started making these for a mayday celebration for the Stroke association and thought I would spread the joy. This is also a project that people will be able to make at Makerfaire2015.
