So Yesterday I was at the Continental market in Durham and saw something I hadn’t seen before. Someone had taken some old coins (but I presume not that valuable) and cut them into different shapes. The Stonehenge one was my favourite!
I had always thought it was illegal to destroy coins, but have just checked and it only applies to coins minted 1969 onwards. This one is clearly much earlier – perhaps that’s why they left the date clearly visible.
